Thoughts On The Clamor For More Twin Peaks After Finally Binge Watching The Original Two Seasons

I remember wondering why people had been clamoring so bad for more Twin Peaks for so many years. Not having watched the show before, I didn’t know if it had just come to its natural end or if it had been forced down due to financial concerns and needed to be wrapped up. After having binge watched the original show over the last two days, I’m still not sure what to think.

I mean, sure, there’s plenty that wasn’t wrapped up. I’d like more closure. I’ll probably go on to watch the subsequent movie and then the 2017 show…but I still don’t know if the original was fully encapsulated for Lynch or not.

I’m sure he could have done other stuff, and did, but I don’t typically think of “closure” when I think of his stuff. I don’t typically think of having to come to a full understanding, or that I even should be able to. Sure, there seemed to be a sign in the last episode that more was necessary for the full story as opposed to just being able to find more story to tell…but I don’t know.

The original may have been intended to be full on its own and the next stuff may just have been additional stories that Lynch decided he could tell. I’m not sure I can come to a conclusion. I’m not sure I’ll be able to once I watch all the rest either. I’m not even sure that I’d want to.
