Most conferences have tables set up for giveaways from authors. The go-to item is usually bookmarks, but there are the occasional “extras” like chapter books, pens, lip balm, postcards. Left Coast Crime was no exception.

I also went to their “Speed Dating” session, where authors moved from table to table, each given one minute to pitch their wares. All of them had something to give away. My favorite (not a surprise to anyone who knows me) was the chocolate.
