How did you get your book published?

My book is published because of my literary agent. She is amazing, and without her, I would not be where I am today. And how did I find my agent? Well, I did a lot of research on literary agents, made a list of those who I thought would love my book, and then I began to email queries (a 250 word pitch of my book) out to those agents. 

I queried Suzie and came up through the “slush pile” in her inbox (I was probably 1 of 200 other query emails she received that week). She read my query, was interested, and emailed me back, requesting my full manuscript. Months later, she offered to represent me. And then because she is awesome, she knew the perfect editor for my book and sent my manuscript to that editor. And the editor read my book, loved it, and offered me a three book publishing deal. 

All the stars aligned for this to happen. But they aligned because I 1) worked my butt off 2) never gave up 3) had some great people on my side to guide and support me.
