Is It Funny That The Mill Appears In The Season Two Opener For Twin Peaks?

You all will have to excuse me, I’m almost thirty years late to the whole Twin Peaks thing. I finally decided to get caught up on this, and binge watched a bunch this last weekend. I’m up to the 18th episode of season two right now (Episode 25 “On the Wings of Love”). Something struck me as funny, the mill is still in the opening credits all of season two.

However, the mill was completely destroyed in the last episode of season one.

It’s just kind of amusing to keep seeing it.  22 episodes like that, longer than the episodes for which the mill was there.

I’m actually kind of surprised Lynch didn’t have the exact same opener but with a destroyed mill replacing the original in the exact same shots. That seems like a gag he would have had fun doing.
