Are You For Real?!

I'm under the pump right now with trying to complete some courses for work (which has stuffed up my writing royally for a couple of weeks, but I gotta pay the bills!) but I just have to take a few minutes off studying to share this.

Mum went to the bank this morning - apart from the fact that she couldn't get money out because the systems were down (we'd be so stuffed if there was a war and tech went down!), they have, what they informed her, was a new system of serving customers.
A queue.
I kid you not!
They used to have a ticket machine, you'd get a ticket with a number and letter on it and sit and wait your turn.
They're not doing that anymore.
Now it's a queue. The newest thing!
Mum told her it was the oldest thing, but the bank lady just smiled and said, "Well, it's OUR new thing!"

I'm still scratching my head in disbelief...
