Rig it Right II – FTP complete.

The manuscript, chapter material, and images have been uploaded to Focal Press.  Now it will go into production.  I’ll hear what the timeline for the line edit is soon enough.  Meanwhile, I’ll work on the AR component so it all goes live together, somewhere in the fall.  At the least, we’ll use the AR feature so that you can get a closer look at the images. Then of course, there is fun to be had, and by fun I mean added functionality that furthers the educational value of the text.  The app has a new feature that supports 3D models – so seriously, there will be fun.  I can’t wait to test it out.  See my earlier post about AR enhancements for more info. I needed a good laugh during the technical editing phase and Kori Amacker delivered. She’s a SCAD M.F.A. animation alumna who did her thesis on rigging. She works at ILM now and agreed to do the technical editing of this book.  Apparently, she has a funny bone that matches mine and the comments that were exchanged in the manuscript’s margins brought levity and a few more Thurston jokes to the effort.  Thanks, Kori!!! All in all, a solid textbook and I hope you enjoy it.  I’m working on a super-intro workshop for highschoolers with some of the material from the book. My goal is to show various ways one can code in art.  You know, nerdy art.
