Whose Alien is This? By Ripley Proserpina

In just under two weeks, I’ll be publishing a book along with eight other science fiction romance authors which is the culmination of nearly a year of work.

And that doesn’t count the actual writing.

Shared worlds isn’t a new idea. Authors have been doing it for years, though perhaps they’ve been doing it anonymously. Sweet Valley High, Nancy Drew and Co., Wonder Woman, all these universes are shared by multiple authors. While many of these worlds share the same characters, others—like Sweet Valley or Nancy Drew—have offshoots…

This summer, I got to meet a group of science fiction romance writers who wanted to share a romance universe in the most literal sense. After months of group work brainstorming, we came up with the planet Sonhadra, and the creatures that would inhabit that world.

We read each other’s books and critiqued each other. We even had an author donate her time and talent with photoshop to make us individual covers. It’s been a really buoying experience—seeing how authors could work together and support each other.

Maybe it’s a risk, but we decided to make our books standalone. Then we decided we’d release on the same day, because then the reader can jump from one alien to the other… that is, if they want to.

Next week, I’ll be posting some teasers, but in the meantime, here’s a bit more about the universe and my part in it.

And to see all the books, here is the Goodreads list. http://bit.ly/2BSt2IL

When an orbital prison is torn through a wormhole and crashes on an unknown planet, it’s every woman for herself to escape the wreckage.

As though savage beasts and harsh, alien climates aren’t enough, the survivors discover the world isn’t uninhabited and must face new challenges—risking not only their lives but their hearts.

Welcome to Sonhadra.

The Valos of Sonhadra series is the shared vision of nine sci-fi and fantasy romance authors. Each book is a standalone, containing its own Happy Ever After, and can be read in any order.
