That picture is lovely.
I've seen several Knockout cosplayers and most of them are tall women, like famed Canadian cosplayer and tv star Liana Kerzner (whom Liana in Secret Six is based upon).
But I'm at Geek Girl Con (which is fricking AMAZING…the first female-aimed geek con I've ever attended, it's like a miracle, I swear to god), and there's this tiny, petite and lovely young lady cosplaying Knockout here with a great costume and attitude…it's completely adorable but a real shock every time I bump into her.
It makes me want to create a powerhouse brick of a female character is just barely tops five feet!
First off can I say how absolutely lovely it was to meet both you and your husband (who is the sweetest man on the planet, might I add) at GeekGirlCon. The moment I heard you were coming I knew I absolutely had to be at this convention (not to mention that the convention itself seemed like such an amazing idea) and you were wonderful and thoughtful and so amazingly approachable and pleasant. Thank you for making a great convention even more amazing. :)
As the Knockout cosplayer it means a lot to me that you liked the costume. Knockout is such a great character and I've always loved her and jumped at the opportunity to make her costume. I did struggle a bit initially with the thought though, since I am far shorter/tinier than Knockout is, but I'm super happy that it came off well. :)
That said it would be amazing to have a strong and short female character. I'm so used to seeing heroes and heroines (and villains and everything in between) that are looming over everyone. I've even had conversations with people where characters are described as the runts of the superhero community for being 5'8".
And now that I've mini ranted, EVERYONE YOU SHOULD REALLY COME TO GEEKGIRLCON IF YOU'RE ABLE. I'll save my glowing praises for a con report later on.
Meeting you was an absolute joy. Seeing you carry off not one, but two of my favorite characters (that I don't get to write anymore) was amazing and a little sad at the same time!
Also, my husband says to ignore that jerk who walked by and if anyone gives you crap like that again to call and hubby will go teach them some manners. :)
