Slide

I am interested in history, particular the history of ancient civilizations. That was one of the big reasons I wanted to go on the recent trip my wife and I took to Peru. However, my interest is not always as committed as it could be.

For example, we went on a tour around Cusco that included a visit to Sacsayhuamán. This is a spectacular citadel of immense historical importance. There is also a natural slide feature on some rocks there. Once our guide finished his big spiel about the site, we could use our free time to either poke around the ruined citadel…or go sliding.

I thought about it and realized I probably should have been more focused on the historical importance of the ruins and examining them. Instead, we played on the slides. Oh well. At least we had a good view of the ruins while sliding.
