Once Upon a Time...
...my blog was boring. So boring, in fact, that all I posted on it was random updates and tidbits about my life. Oh, wait, isn't that the point of a blog? Some people will argue that no, it's not, blogs are about promoting yourself, or making a difference, or being part of a community... but none of it's true. Blogs are public rant centers for crazies like myself whose normal (offline) associates don't care about where my book is in the Amazon Novel Rank or what the heck ta'veren is or what I ate for lunch yesterday (I think it was peanut butter and apple butter sandwiches). "Glorified twitter feed" is a term my friend made up to describe blogs. I think he's kinda right.
So I'm going to indulge in a little rant/update/glorified tweeting here. Firstly, about my books. I'm making a sale or 2 or 4 every day (which is more than I expected, having done absolutely nothing to promote myself beyond Facebook), and I have like a total of 70 sales and maybe 8 reviews, spread out over 4 different books. Not great, but like I said, not bad for doing nothing. My first payment of the whopping $17 I made in August off Mordred finally came, and I immediately spent more than I made pre-ordering a bunch of not-yet-out books that I want to read but didn't have an excuse to get, yet.
I'm still reading The Wheel of Time, book 3, and it's great. This may be my absolute favorite series besides Lord of the Rings, when it's done.
Oh! I got a Shelfari account. I'm gonna try and use it- and my Goodreads author account- but who knows how much time I'll have. It's fun so far, though. So, I'm now represented by myself, as myself, on these sites:'
Facebook
Goodreads
Shelfari
Amazon Author Central USA
Amazon Author Central UK
KindleBoards
Blogger...
Barnes and Noble (sorta. my books are there but I don't have an author page.)
...so a total of 7.5. Cool... now how in the world am I supposed to keep up with it all?
I dunno. But life isn't going so bad. Things could be worse. In fact, I'd rate this year an 8/10 so far.
YAWN (that was you, the reader, being bored).
Well, anyway, if you want to connect with me on any of the above sites ^^^^^^, just click on the links on the side of the blog. If one is missing or not what you wanted, comment and I'll respond.
Believe me. I get no comments. If you type one, I WILL see it and I WILL respond. ;)
