So a lot of you are already aware of my deep love for Receiver of Many by Rachel Alexander, or kata-chthonia. I’m sure a few of you actually found me through my various fake show posters, gifsets, or general ramblings about this story. Well, here’s another inevitable one.
My love for Greek Mythology is incredibly deep, and the story of Hades and Persephone has been picked apart and reshaped in so many different ways that never seemed to fully justify much as far as retellings generally go. At least that was the case for me until I read this. I’ll never regret how many times I’ve read and reread this story, and I think you’ll feel the same way if you haven’t yet had the chance to read it.
Originally Receiver of many started out as something of a fanfiction on AO3. It’s an erotic retelling of the old myth following Hades and Persephone, full of action, incredible details, diversity, spectacular vision, and an incredibly wonderful romance that will have you falling in love along with the our main characters. So many pieces of this novel are beyond satisfying. The accuracy brings this old myth to life in an unexpected, modern way. The development, attention to the details and implementation will make you beyond happy.
I honestly can’t talk up this story enough. I’d highly suggest buying the book and seeing the magic for yourself. One of my ultimate favorites by far!
