Conquering the Night?

Did I mention that I've been asked to present a workshop at the Futuristic, Fantasy and Paranormal RWA chapter conference in New Orleans next year?

It's an honor to be asked!

So I'm thrilled.

Then I received a request from my editor for longer synopsis on the two books for fall 2012, and the title that was mentioned for the jaguar book was now: Conquering the Night!

Okay, so new title! It may change again, so don't put that in your notes for when you have to take a test on it. :)

Last night, we had a demon possess the cash register when I was trying to shut it down. First, one of our librarians hit the wrong key and it took me about 15 minutes to clear that error message. Then I was getting ready to shut it down for the night, and a new error message pops up. Can't get the register open. Can't clear the message.

Then another librarian poked a couple of buttons and voila!

The demon took charge of the register. We had a receipt that kept printing, and printing, and printing the same thing over and over and over. I shut it off, turned it on, same thing.

So I shut it off, looked at him with raised brows, he gave me one of his elusive smiles, and I thought the only thing I could do was try to clear the register and pull the receipt. I really didn't think it would work because the printer was printing non-stop.

I started the clearing procedure, and it worked!

Although we have this HUGE receipt that shows the devil was at work.

And who knows if the cash register will work this morning. I'm not worried. That's what managers are for. They get paid the big bucks!

:)

Besides it's Friday!!!

Have you ever been stumped by a haywire machine that you're sure has been infested with gremlins?

Did I ever mention the time my computer began typing nonsensical stuff across my Word documents? But that's another story....
