Veterans Day by Stacy Hoff

Tomorrow is Veterans Day. I want to express my thanks to the men and women who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces. They are America’s brave.

When I was a child, I was given a day off from school to celebrate. Today, the school district where I live has children attend school instead. The school day is filled with special Veterans Day programing. Different guest speakers teach kids about what they had experienced when they served. My kids love listening to their stories.

Because tomorrow is Saturday, my kids’ schools will celebrate Veterans Day today. No time like the present to get started celebrating.

I wish all Veterans a day of peace, and plenty of praise. I know in my school district, the praise is guaranteed.
