Fall Back

Whyyyy?

Tonight, Daylight Saving Time ends in the US. The ending of Daylight Saving’s in the Fall is always harder for me than its beginning in Spring, because I wake up earlier than I want to in general. Sometimes several hours earlier. Today? I was up before 5:30. Tomorrow, that same time will be 4:30. And while it shouldn’t really matter, since I work when I work, I work from home, and whatever…the fact is, at 4:30 am in the winter it’s cold and shitty and dark and I’d rather be asleep in my bed.

What about you, what’s easier for you? Spring Forward or Fall Back?

Antonella I am not fond of this artificial change, but I like it more in the Spring, because then evenings get longer.

It seems like such an archaic practice to me!

April When I was younger I didn't mind either. I was a night owl and longer or shorter days didn't matter.

Now I'm older and more of a daytime person... so getting darker earlier is kind of a bummer. But I don't have a very strong circadian rhythmn--I can wake up and go to sleep at odd hours no matter the time of day.

I've always liked fall, though. Cooler weather (I live in SoCal, so I don't have to worry about things getting TOO cold ever). The extra darkness suits it. And I used to love having the extra hour to sleep when I was in school or working certain hours. So... Fall is nicer, I think.

Annette Fall. I have a hard time getting up in the morning, so an extra hour in bed - heaven :) I have never been one to 'wake up' at the same time.
