Hackers are now using Facebook Messenger to spread 'advanced' malware code.By Jason Murdock for International Business Times on MSN.com/News"Hackers are now using Facebook Messenger to circulate malicious links in an attempt to trick unsuspecting victims into downloading various forms of adware. It remains unclear how fast it is spreading – but experts believe it could be the result of stolen passwords, hijacked web browsers or a technique known as clickjacking. This was spreading via Facebook Messenger, serving multi-platform malware/adware, using tons of domains to prevent tracking, and earn clicks. The code is advanced and obfuscated, said David Jacoby, an expert at cyber-security firm Kaspersky Lab. The Facebook message used typical social engineering tactics to trick users into clicking a link – meaning the content was designed to appear personalized. In this instance, it came in the form of a short message with the victim's name, a shocked face emoji and a shortened Bit.ly link to a blurred out video."

When it comes to the search for missing matter, dark matter -- the mysterious, invisible material accounting for roughly 80 percent of the mass of the universe -- hogs the headlines. But astronomers have also struggled to find a lot of visible matter, too. Now, a pair of research teams have found the missing matter. The matter is made up of particles called baryons, heavy subatomic particles made up of three quarks. Astronomers discovered the missing baryons among strands of hot, diffuse gas linking the universe's galaxies together -- the faintest portions of what's known as the cosmic web."

Scientists Create Nano-particles That Help Antibiotics Kill Drug-Resistant Bacteria.By Suraj Radhakrishnan for International Business Times on MSN.com/News"Imagine a small nanobot injected into your bloodstream that travels through organs, identifies dead or dying cells, and eliminates them, effectively curing a disease. Does that sound too far-fetched? Researchers have recently taken significant steps in implementing nano-science in medicine. The scientists from the University of Colorado, Boulder, have engineered nano-particles, which can produce chemicals that make drug-resistant bacteria more susceptible to antibiotics, shortening the length of treatment. These bots are fundamentally quantum dots, which are capable of producing a chemical that makes the pathogen more reactive to the tried and tested antibiotics. This study, published in the journal, Science Advances, could help combat super-bugs that tend not to respond to a standard antibiotic treatment, increasing the treatment time and severity of methods of treatment."
