How MAD are you ?? (What a word)

It often comes to me in moments of MADNESS that the thought process is really quite MAD isn't it ?

A simple word, well they are all simple really when we think about them. One of the funny things when we say a word repeatedly and it looses meaning, just for a short while our brain forgets the meaning while we say it over and over again.
So the word MAD, in Ireland we can use this word so much and it never looses meaning. We can use it to replace, strange or weird for anything really and then such things being weird can be unusual or unreal. We in Ireland can cover all of those with a quick "jaysus that's MAD isn't it ?"

Though Mad just never seems to loose meaning, when I lived in the big old U.S of A. saying to someone they are MAD never really had the same effect although the really MAD ones always found it offensive. If anything, I used to connect it with laughter as a great show of comedy sketches which I found quite funny, called MAD tv.

Sometimes people have told me that blah blah blah is so MADDENING to them, when I think of this I can get into all kinds of confusion. So something is prevoking them or annoying to them hence it is MADDENING. Then growing up in Ireland being MAD could have just been a way to pass comment on something weird or unusual or even strange. How could this be provoking or annoying ????

There are many youth now who have taken the MAD to a whole and other level while they post their status or profile on social media of being a "full time MAD bastard" what do they mean exactly? They promise to devout their teen years at being weird and unusual all the while being annoying and full time provoking ?

Some others use the word to I guess mean passionate or something, I am MADLY in love with.........which would mean frantically, insanely or hysterically in love with. How nerve racking is that. Someone is hysterically in love with...... but they would never choose that expression so MADLY works just fine.

When someone does something a little off the cuff, well it can be referred to as complete and utter MADNESS or another way something can be condemed to be politely crazy is when we use sheer. Oh yeah that points the finger "sheer MADNESS" that is like saying "pure MAD" . How funny is this little three letter word. Not so funny if any men in white coats while asessing you write down. MAD!

Pure MAD though, can be a great expression of awesome. A friend may be telling of how great a weekend they just had and how their new friend was just awesome by saying "we had a pure MAD weekend and this guy, oh what a great laugh. He was pure MAD. This does not mean he needed doctors help at all, just a good up for a laugh guy who was the life of the party. Yet say to another "are you MAD?"
you may not get a friendly response.

So to leave you with my MAD thoughts would be to say, it can be quite MADDENING to compliment someone on their pure MAD loving life attitude to be met with a complete, full time MAD bastard resposnse of how they express their being MADLY offended at how anyone with such utter MADNESS dares to comment on their person.... oooooohhhh makes me so MAD.
