#SelfCoaching - Are you "programming" yourself to suffer?

Through repeated actions (including repeated emotional reactions such as ruminative worrying), various “habit-loops” are created in your brain. And with persistent practice, these habit-loops become stronger and stronger, eventually rewiring your brain.

Whether it’s parallel parking, dialing a phone (do we still call it dialing?), blow drying your hair, or using chop sticks, in order to ensure efficiency, our brains were designed to be quite programmable.

Unfortunately, anxiety and depression, over time, become programmed habit-loops. Regrettably, our brains were not designed to differentiate between constructive or destructive habit formations—that’s your job. All habit are learned (yes even anxiety and depression which are habits fed by our doubts, fears, and negative thinking) and all habits that can be unlearned
