Beginning A New Story

I have been circling around a new series idea for a number of months, and in May it started to gel enough that I could talk to my agent about it.

Whenever I begin work on a new book, I think of the Beatrix Potter quote:

There is something delicious about writing the first words of a story. You never quite know where they’ll take you.
