Hypnotized by Love
Hypnotized by Love...So true for almost all the people who are in love or have ever been in love.
Even when there are a hundred more important things in this world that I could discuss, I chose to talk about love. I question myself, Why???
Maybe because this one word has changed me in ways I cannot explain. From my early childhood, I have been a strong believer of love. Seeing that my parents had a love marriage, this feeling of love has always baffled me. The way love makes you see all the beautiful things around you, how love makes you a positive person and how it gives your life, a reason to live.
Love is indeed powerful and beyond. I was a true believer. I had faith that someday I will get that one person and then everything, thereafter, would be my happy ending.
But, in real life, there are no happy endings. There are only endings and then the new beginnings. So what really describes a happy ending? Falling in love? Getting into a relationship? Getting married? Or does having a baby defines a happy ending?
I guess I am somewhere lost on this whole idea of getting a happy ending. Now that I think about it, who put in our heads, this idea of meeting a prince charming and a happy ending? Should we blame the fairy tales or the romantic movies?
I believe that the reason we were fed with this version of the story and not the reality, has a lot to do with the fact that the people who tell us these stories know that there is no such thing as a happy ending. It would be a chaos if people knew the truth and so this cover up of a fairy tale ending suits everyone.
This makes me wonder that if there are no happy endings, is there no love? Is love defined by a happily ever after? Maybe not. I used to believe that you fall in love once and that remains with you forever. But what if that one love wasn't enough to last that long? Would you give up, for that was your only chance? I don't believe that.
Love is a feeling that consumes us and comforts us. Love is not just between two people. Love is between friends, love is when you go out on a trip with your friends, love is when you enjoy being with them, love is when you put their needs before yours, love is when there are no conditions and in a true sense, it is unconditional.
We never look for love, we always look for relationships. Love is so strong and powerful that it will never make you feel sad, while relationships would certainly make you feel worse in many ways. Love is so pure that it only knows how to keep people happy, while relationships do make us cry.
We keep looking for relationships in the fear of spending our lives alone. But we never see that the people who are by our side through all the trials and tribulations of relationships, are the ones who really love you.
So, what if, for a change we don't try to find a relationship and just enjoy the feeling called love.
Maybe if we just try to love and be loved, we might end up finding that perfect relationship that we were all looking for...
