"I'm losing it," she finally murmured once her heart had settled down to a normal rate. She rubbed her eyes then glanced at her watch and realized it was after three in the morning. No wonder she was hearing voices; she must have drifted off to sleep without realizing she had. She tossed the journal on the coffee table and stared at it as she listened to the sounds of the house. Nothing out of the normal stood out, but she was seated in a semi-soundproof room, even if the door stood wide open, it was sure to keep noises at a minimum.
She reached for her empty cup sitting beside the journal and headed for the door. The hallway appeared like a dark tunnel with no end in sight and she fumbled for the light switch on the wall. Upon finding it, her fingers flipped the small knob and light flooded the passageway, making it less foreboding, but her nerves remained on edge. When she reached the kitchen, she treated its dark void in the same manner, peeking around the corner into the room and feeling like a fool for doing so, but hey, better safe than sorry. She had distinctly heard a man's voice and even if it had been a dream or in her head, she remained a little spooked.

Unofficial Blurb for End of the Road
Lars Gunner, the frontman for Silent Plaids, died 23 years ago and is trapped in limbo until his daughter, Cecilia, unearths his journal and is able to see him. His death was ruled an unfortunate accident, but he's convinced it had to be murder despite the fact he can't recall what happened in his last moments of life. Cecilia seeks the help from Kaleb, a psychic, but as they resurrect the past, the secrets and lies surrounding Lar's rock and roll life just may be the death of them too.
