time

Yesterday was May 1st. *looks at computer's time display* Today is May 19th. Yikes! Where did the time go?

Jynx knows what time it is right when I walk in the door; it is supper time! He runs to greet me at the door and then leads me into the kitchen before I have a chance to pet him. He then gets on his counter and waits for me to feed him. If I don't feed him right away, he starts bawling like a little cow. Maybe he is transspecies.

Ever since his trips to the vet a few months ago, he has been on a partial wet food diet. He loves this stuff and can't wait until his next can. In fact, any trip to the kitchen now brings him over to see if it is time for a can of his food. His memory is short, so he can be forgiven for trying to con me out of more.

My memory is also short. I keep forgetting that I need to be working on this task or the other. I also forgot that I had a short story all ready to go in case I didn't have time to write and needed to have something for a writing group. It worked out anyway, because I'm going to end up not having anything new for two meetings in a row. Having this story to critique helped me feel like things were still progressing.

Now I have a new dilemma. By digging out this story, I have the itch to write another short story. It has been ten months since I completed one. When will I find time to work on one again?

Time is a master of us all and it is slipping away. Jynx wants it to slip away faster so that he can get his special food. I could go for a day where time stood still so that I could get what I want done. What would you do if you had a day where time stood still?

Jehree Anderson Great story, pets do certainly know their meal time and will let us know when it is lol.

For me if I could have a day where time stood still I would do a lot of reading and do some writing of my own, :)
