She didn't know if they were words he'd written for a song or if he'd written them when he'd been paranoid that someone was following him. Either way, the words chilled her and at the same time, they made her more curious than ever. These were her father's words, his thoughts, and his dreams jotted down on paper. She had a part of him she otherwise would never have had any other way since he died before she could really know him. The media made him seem like an untouchable force to be admired and his bandmates only told her the good things–well mostly the good things. Depended on how much they had to drink. Her father had a reputation as being a rebel rouser and one didn't achieve such a status by being wholesome. He'd been a few fights, drank like he'd been deprived liquids, drugs were like candy to him; so popping pills were probably a part of his staple diet.
For a long time, she'd been angry with him for dying, but then she realized it hadn't been entirely the reason for her anger. It pissed her off that people acted as if they knew him, especially the media and his fans...when all she had were hazy memories and the distorted ones her mother chose to share with her, painting her father as a saint.

She may find out who the real man is by reading the journal. Hopefully, she won't be disappointed.
Love to hear your feedback.
Unofficial Blurb for End of the Road
Lars Gunner, the frontman for Silent Plaids, died 23 years ago and is trapped in limbo until his daughter, Cecilia, unearths his journal and is able to see him. His death was ruled an unfortunate accident, but he's convinced it had to be murder despite the fact he can't recall what happened in his last moments of life. Cecilia seeks the help from Kaleb, a psychic, but as they resurrect the past, the secrets and lies surrounding Lar's rock and roll life just may be the death of them too.
