75th Anniversary of Doolittle Raid

April 18, 2017, marks the 75th anniversary of the Doolittle Raid, a daring counterstrike at the heart of Japan and a deep blow to the morale of the Japanese military and people.

Jake DeShazer, featured in my book, Wounded Tiger, was, perhaps, among the most insignificant people in this raid as the bombardier of the #16 plane, yet his capture, torture, and imprisonment put him and his few comrades on the front pages of newspapers around the world and the talking point of presidents, emperors, and ordinary people.
