When he was seven, he met Fuchida
11/12/18
This past week I was contacted by a man who, when he was just seven, met Mitsuo Fuchida when he spoke at their church. He got a signed copy of Fuchida's book, which he prized.
He later went to Vietnam, went to school and earned his doctorate in psychology, and recently came across "Wounded Tiger." He posted his review on Amazon after contacting me personally:
"I read the entire 580 pages in two and a half days. Having met Mitsuo Fuchida at age seven I couldn't believe the detail that the author was able to uncover. I was spellbound reading about World War II, The Doolitle Raid, the captivity of Jacob DeShazer, prisoner of war and all the while intertwining the life of Mitsuo Fuchida. Martin, "You have hit this one out of the park." All of this leading up to one of the greatest missionary stories of my lifetime. Just unbelievable. "Love," truly is the answer." Alan Fleming, Ph.D.
In a follow-up email to me, he wrote:
"It truly was an amazing story and the detail that you were able to discover blew me away! I'm rereading it for the second time. I trust your vision of getting this into film is realized. I absolutely think this is one of the greatest missionary stories of my lifetime. I was emotional through the last portion of the book even though you brought out so much that I had never known. I just couldn't put it down. I really think you captured the essence of the ENTIRE story. "
Messages like these make me feel the years of work of research, writing, and rewriting have been worth it, if for no one else but this one man. Thanks Alan ...

75th Anniversary of Doolittle Raid
April 18, 2017, marks the 75th anniversary of the Doolittle Raid, a daring counterstrike at the heart of Japan and a deep blow to the morale of the Japanese military and people.
Jake DeShazer, featured in my book, Wounded Tiger, was, perhaps, among the most insignificant people in this raid as the bombardier of the #16 plane, yet his capture, torture, and imprisonment put him and his few comrades on the front pages of newspapers around the world and the talking point of presidents, emperors, and ordinary people.
You may have heard of the Doolittle Raid, now find out the rest of the story and how Jake DeShazer's life impacted the pilot who led the Pearl Harbor attack and much more ...

Since Wounded Tiger began as an epic screenplay, I've kept that vision and have continued to work with others to move the film side of this project forward. The Cannes Film Festival is an invitation-only event and takes place May 14-26 in Cannes, France. A film contact of mine is representing Wounded Tiger (and no other projects) to see if she can bring a few key people on board and some initial funding to put the project into development.
I'm new at this, so send me a message if there's something you'd like to know or see here. Thanks ...
