Welcome to my I’m excited for Confest!!1! picture post. In it, expect to see much flailing around from the day before I leave for Confest 2017.

Last night, I decided that I wanted to find a particular hair clip to take with me, cause my hair has been cut short enough that it’ll actually take. Think I could find it last night? Nope. But I did find it this morning, which is much better than coming home from Confest next week and finding it then. 

I was writing lists for things we still need to buy, and groceries to take with us at the time. This then seemed like a really great time to decide to colour my hair. Don’t even ask me why this was a good idea in preparation for Confest. I don’t even know. 

I finally got back to my lists. Of course, rather than wait till this afternoon or evening to go get the groceries, I had to do it RIGHT THEN cause the sandwiches needed to be made and wrapped, and the hot cross buns had to be buttered and put in foil for campfires in the early morning.

Somewhere in the middle of that, I was in a conversation discussing pinterest lanterns with battery operated fairy lights. I mean, I have a perfectly reliable torch that I can use for light at night, but it’s the aesthetic!! Also, I feel like a LotR elf for bringing this with me. Oh dear.

Several hours later, finally, I have my clip, flower crown (that was the first thing I ever bought at my first ever Confest) )and purple tinged hair because I don’t go in for that bleaching stuff. Sandwiches are made and packed and the rest of the cured meet is out of reach of our cats who grew very curious midway through my kitchen ventures. 

For now, at least, the anxious-excitement of getting ready has stalled.
