About this snippet: Chapter One (Don't Fear) The Reaper Snippet 17. Check out last week's snippet here.
Last week recap: Cecilia found her father's journal hidden beneath a floorboard. She's referring to her father in this first sentence of the snippet. Before her father died, his bandmates claimed he was paranoid.
The story is in the very early stages and has not been edited.
He even accused her mother of having someone follow him. It was why at first the authorities believed her father's accident had been a suicide, that he'd been unstable.
She stared at the book and wondered what she should do with it. Give it to her mother?
She stood, placed the last guitar in its place and closed the closet door. She glanced at the book in her hand. She'd be lying if she weren't just a tad curious to know what her father had written. Maybe after she read it and made sure there wasn't anything in it that would upset her mother, she'd give it to her. God knew her mother didn't need anything else to obsess about in regards to her father.
She placed the journal on the desk but as she turned a loud slap against the wood floor had her whirling back with a gasp.
