Beetlejuice Had To Be One Of The Funnest Movies I Totally Got Wrong Going In

I was just thinking about Beetlejuice. That had to be one of the funnest movies I was totally mistaken about going in.

That came out when I was 11 or 12. As I remember, the trailers for the movie made me think it was all about the titular character. More like what the cartoon ended up being, though even then he was still the supporting character instead of the lead. I certainly didn’t imagine him as the villain, and had no idea of the actual main story line and the actual characters.

Note, this is the way I remember it. This may not be right. It’s been around 29 years.

So I saw the trailers and HAD to see the movie. They got me all riled up to see the movie. My sister was as excited to see it as I was. Then, it was a totally different movie from what we imagined, but that didn’t bother us a bit. We still loved it.

Just seemed strange at the moment to have expectations that pulled us in so much totally switched and have no worries in the slightest. That’s pretty rare. Usually people, me included, get somewhat ticked.
