Bound Together

Bound Together, (Sisters of the Heart Series, Book 6), by Christine FeehanBlurb:For five years, Viktor Prakenskii has put his life on hold in order to take down the world’s most feared motorcycle club from the inside. But carrying out the insane violence and seeing the club’s exploitation of the innocent has brought his traumatic past roaring back. And there’s only one cure: to see the wife he left behind...Blythe Daniels thought she’d never see Viktor again after he murdered her stepfather and left without a word. She rebuilt her life without him, becoming a personal trainer and physical therapist...becoming strong enough for others to lean on. But when Viktor comes back to Sea Haven, he’ll make Blythe question everything she thought she knew about good and evil—and the dark desires of the heart...I have enjoyed this series, as well as the Drake series before it, and I'm sure I will like the spin-off about Viktor's adoptive brother and sisters, since I'm very curious about all of them. However, I was a little disappointed by this book... For a while I've found that the books are getting quite repetitive; with a few exceptions, the Prakenskii brothers are practically identical and there are certain sentences and explanations that get repeated throughout the book until I could feel myself rolling my eyes and beginning to get a little annoyed - I do not need to be told the same thing a hundred times, I got it the first time!I always enjoy Christine Feehan's characters and although I've never been intrigued by Blythe, Viktor has interested me since we met him properly in book 6 and I liked the brief introduction we got to his adoptive brothers, although I would have liked a scene of them meeting Blythe's sisters and Viktor's blood brothers. Honestly, I was a little disappointed that it didn't happen and there wasn't as much interaction between the main characters and the supporting characters as there usually is, which I usually really like. And then there was the issue of Blythe's puppy... where was she the whole book? :-(It was a good book for the most part, though I didn't feel it was an adequate end to the series, despite there being a spin-off.My favourite quotes from 'Bound Together':'Blythe could hear her heart beating, telling her she was still alive, when for so long, she didn't want to be.''... children need to protect their world, even if it's a terrible one.''Just because it isn't fair to tell you doesn't mean it isn't true.''You loved a person for who they were, not what you wanted them to become.''Can you live with us the way we are? Fucked-up. Imperfect, but trying.''It's probably illegal and he's going to get himself in trouble without me to figure out just how to get away with the crime he's about to commit.''He didn't sweat the small stuff because his life was filled with big things to worry about.''She could feel the way they all viewed her man, and she knew they were crushing him with the weight of their needs.'' "... they expect you to save the world because I expected you to save them. ... I saved their lives, but I can't save my own soul so I brought them here with me hoping you could do it." ''... the last thing she wanted to do was leave the boy with the club members without supervision. As far as she was concerned, they all needed supervision ...''Let them come. We don't mind enemies. We wouldn't know what to do without them.'
