My new book, HIGH NOON: THE HOLLYWOOD BLACKLIST AND THE MAKING OF AN AMERICAN CLASSIC, came out on Feb. 21. The reviews so far have been good, but what's really surprised me are the many questions via my live book talks and radio interviews about the parallels between the blacklist era and our current turbulent political times. I wrote about this in a piece for the Daily Beast last month, entitled "Gunning Down the Myth of the Lone Cowboy:"

In a nutshell, the vicious rhetoric, the search for enemies to blame for our national problems, the anger with our so-called political elites, and the outright lying and demagoguery of those leading the crusade (Joe McCarthy back then, Donald Trump today) are very similar. Do you agree?
