* more on the “suppression” of A FLOOD OF EVIL by Amazon in Germany and the US

My questions to Kindle Support services … 1. I did not find any guideline that mentions swastikas … did I miss this guideline? 2. What happened in October 2016 (.de site) and in March 2017 (.com site) to cause my book to be suppressed after it had been approved in June 2016? Somebody decided to take action. Why? […]

Lilo I don't get it. There are dozens, if not hundreds, of book covers on Amazon showing a swastika. The draft for the book cover of my memoir also contains a swastika. Could not do without one.

Has Amazon turned nuts? They publish terribly anti-Semitic books but prohibit swastikas on book covers of books with clearly anti-Nazi contents.

I am drafting a letter to Jeff Bezos (head of amazon). DO you have names of some of the books on amazon that have swastikas on the cover?

Also, there seems to be an exception in the German law that could well apply to my book ...

The German Strafgesetzbuch (Criminal Code) in § 86a outlaws "use of symbols of unconstitutional organizations" outside of the contexts of "art or science, research or teaching".

Lilo I have quite a number of book covers saved in my computer. All of these books have Third Reich topics, and most of these book covers contain swastikas. I had collected these book covers to get ideas for colors, lay-outs, and fonts for the book cover of my memoir.

The problem: I am presently out of town and writing on my husband's laptop. I'll get back home either tomorrow night or, more likely, next Sunday night.

If it can wait this long, I'd be glad at to e-mail you this collection of book covers. (Just remind me because my head is full with all kinds of have-to-dos.)

If it can't wait this long, search Goodreads' Third-Reich-related Listopia lists. This is where I got my collected book covers from.

It is good that the German Strafgesetzbuch prohibits the use of Nazi symbols, such as the swastika. However, it should be clear that book covers of books NOT propagating Nazi- or neo-Nazi ideologies should be exempt. I am afraid there is Saint Bureaucratus at work or, maybe, just simply an ordinary moron.

Thanks so much. A few days is not critical.

O.k. I'll be glad to send you the list. But please remind me. The storage capacity of my aging brain is presently at its limit. We are still haunted by Murphy's Law and keep jumping from one calamity into another.
