Learning to Number our Days

In this new year, we should number our days, not in fear or resolution but in preparation and care.I  have hardly been online or at the computer for over two months now. I really need to plan more frequent sabaticals so I don't get so burnt out... So much has happened in our country and the world, it's been hard to process. Many people have died over the past year. Earthquakes, volcanoes, economic collapse & terrorism have become daily news. We heard of unexplained mass animal deaths almost weekly. This election was horrific. Words cannot express the lack of integrity and even total lack of humanity rampit in high places. Do people really no longer have any honor, morality or self-control left? It has truly been so sickening that I had to step back away from it all.In the process of taking a break and removing myself from all the venom, I have been consentrating on our little family, our home, and the Word of YHWH. I crocheted gifts for Hanukkah till my thumbs were numb and my hands aching. We did some minor remodeling and decluttering. We have enjoyed learning new things together. It's been sweet and I'm really happy.

Last year my "Word for the Year" was PREPARE. While things did NOT go as I had anticipated, I do feel much more prepared this year. Prepared for what? you might ask... It may sound fillipant but I feel prepared for almost anything right now. I am filled with a comfort beyond understanding and I know in my heart that anything the LORD allows in our lives this next year, HE will be with us and help us through.
And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7
In this new year, we should number our days, not in fear or resolution but in preparation and care. This year, I have no "resolutions" and even though there are awful things happening in the world, I am not afraid. I do have some plans, goals and ideas for this new year, but I'm going to roll with the flow in flexibility and adventure. That's my biggest goal this year; to be Adventurous!

So, my "Word for the Year" in 2017 is INTREPID. (Tenacious, Adventurous, Courageous, Audacious, Daring, Determined, Bold, Dauntless, Fearless, Fiery, Resolute, Spirited, Spunky, Steadfast, Persevering, Persistent, Purposeful, Enduring, Loyal, Vigilant) I'm meeting this new year with bold determination!  ...Well... maybe after I move out of hybernation mods...  LOL

What plans & goals do you have for this year? Are you concerned about world affairs? Do you have any particular prayer requests for this year. I'd love to add you to my prayer list.  Please share with me in the comments below. I LOVE hearing from you!
