January 4, 2017

Okay, okay, today isn't the 3rd -- It's the 4th, a lovely rainy chilly day in January -- the first Wednesday of the year. Don't know about you but I always love mid-week -- If you're of a philosophical bent, you can think of Wednesday as mid-point on the mountain for poor Sisyphus. Push that rock, Dude, you can do it.
Please get in your final NFL 2016 tally. I'm closing it down Friday, so tote up your wins/losses and post them to me. also, your predictions on the winners for this weekend. Giants? Packers? Seahawks? Lions? You get the idea -- let's here it --
Very little pollution left, thank you, Sudafed, thank you, Sudafed. I'll continue to take two of those suckers a day for another three or four days, just to keep everything in check. Do you have a favorite cold remedy? That works even a little bit? So that you can tell a tiny bit of difference? It's amazing, isn't it, that in the 23rd century (Star Trek) there's still no cure for baldness or colds? Hmm, makes you wonder
who was in charge for the next two centuries.

Abby Cold "remedy": Buckley's mixture (the original, that tastes hideous), DayQuil (that makes the room spin, and you uncertain of what day it is), Nyquil (that knocks you out, so you're not uncomfortable). Unfortunately, even though the Beverly HillBillies' uncle Jed said Grannie's potion fixed colds, yes, it takes 10 days to get over one.
A cold is no fun. The big things capture the news and the pharmaceutical companies attention: "small things", like colds, haven't got enough power to do so. (Plus, a cold "only" makes you uncomfortable, it won't kill you.)
Happy New Year. Welcome to 2017.
Get better, so you can get back to writing.
