From eWorld to a World without Electronics

In the first book in the Miss Tree Tales series titled Mighty Coconuts, Mia and Nik travel back to a time when there are no electronics. They experience the simple life of the past meeting new friends, Mohan and Veena, with whom they play numerous fun games and create interesting crafts with different parts of coconut trees. They are amazed by the resourcefulness of their new friends and realize how much fun they can have without any electronics.

Once this info was passed to our circle of friends and family, we got numerous folks asking us how they can read the book if they do not own a Kindle. The rest of the post is about details on how you can get a copy and read the book.

With subtle hints in the book to stay away from electronics, it does seem a little contradictory to post how to use an electronic medium to read the book. Well, not all electronics is bad. Many times, going paperless has its benefits as it saves trees that are otherwise cut down to make paper. Without going into more pros and cons, here is a quick overview of how to read the electronic version of the book:

If you own a Kindle device, you need not read any further. You are already an expert in this space. If you do not own a Kindle device but have a smart phone or tablet, you can download the Kindle app on to your device and download the book. Kindle has apps for most devices and this option works quite well if you are comfortable with a smaller screen. If yes, you are all set and you too need not read this post any further unless you would like to.If you do not own an electronic device or just don't like reading a lengthy book on a small screen, Kindle also supports a reader for Macs and PCs. Here are the list of steps for installing and setting up Kindle Reader on a PC or laptop:Download and install the app from this link https://www.amazon.com/kindle-dbs/fd/... the Kindle Reader program.Go to Tools -> Manage Your Kindle. It will take you to the Amazon Kindle Store website.Login with your Amazon id. If you do not have one, you will have to go ahead and create one to proceed further.Search for "Mighty Coconuts" and go ahead and get the book (Thanks for your interest). Now, wait for the book to get downloaded.You should now see it in the Kindle Reader. Now, the only thing left to do is to read and let us know your opinion. Being first time author/illustrator duo, we would appreciate all and any feedback.  Just a few more things about Kindle Reader. You can adjust the font, text width etc and also go full screen. Note that this can sometimes make some blank spaces appear in between some of the illustrations and text. We are yet to explore and figure out if there are options to improve the picture/text alignment for various font/width settings.
