Adjusting the background colour so writing isn't so blindingly white!

Want a different background colour when you're writing? White too bright? Look no further!
If like me, you prefer a different background colour than white when you're writing, it can be changed!
It was a simple enough process in earlier Windows but in Windows 10, it's not easy to do. Luckily I found a way and my fiddling about to find this fix should make life easier for you. Adjusting the colour will change a window like this:

to something like this:

Less painful on the eyes when you're in front of the computer and writing all day long.
First hit the windows key (down near ctrl and alt on most keyboards) and R at the same time (Win+R)
That loads the "run" window. Type in "control color" without the speech marks of course!
That loads this window:

Click on the top box next to windows background and then choose whatever colour you prefer. Hit apply and see how it looks. You can tweak the other colours while you're at it if you're that way inclined. Then get back to writing!
