Brenda, it took me a few years. This is a trumpet vine (which grows like a weed, unfortunately), and in the back they seem to like the gladiola. I posted another photo yesterday — the beak of the bird actually parted. I have to photograph these through window glass and I never get the precision I want, but it's close at any rate. Good luck with your own garden!

It's so brilliant, isn't it? The summer of hummingbirds! I know exactly what you mean and I send my heartfelt congratulations!!(and yes, those flowers dropping. I haven't seen mine for a few days, and I worry)
Whatever happens next, they once were ours. :)
