My first reading
Yesterday I had my first book reading. The crowd was enthusiastic for my new book coming out December 1st, Ragel's Brood, because it was written with them in mind.
I volunteered at the Timber Lakes Elementary career day Teach-In last year and read a little story I'd written about a family of dragons. This year I came back with the news that this middle-grade story (for ages 8-13) will be my next book!
The first proofs come in today and the all kids in the classroom will have their own copy of the book tomorrow afternoon.

Writing on the Edges
Writing is not the center of my life, but it does a good job filling in the rough edges. I spend just enough time to take writing seriously, without taking myself too seriously as a writer.
