Five Things You didn’t know about ‘Crazy for You’

Juan Carlos, Jack’s real name, is a combination of my grandfather’s name and my father’s name. Like my father, Jack is half Puerto Rican. For a long time, I’ve wanted to write a Hispanic hero. And guess what? More of them are coming.
Originally, Jack was going to be dressed in his street clothes when he apprehended the would-be burglar. Until my friend and author Amy Lamont suggested: what if he’s dressed like Santa?
I had to re-read parts of ‘Somebody Like You’ to re-familiarize myself with Fallon’s character and background. I then proceeded to deeply regret I’d had her divorced three times! Oy! One of the toughest things I’ve ever done is trying to make Fallon sympathetic to the reader.
I had never previously mentioned the name of Fallon’s son, and I picked David because I’ve always loved that name.
I named Wallace and Genevieve’s youngest son after my youngest son.
