A Question for the ages...

How do you know when you have met "that special someone?"

As most of you know if you've been reading my blog for more than five seconds, I am a hopeful romantic.  I believe we all have our soul mate out there somewhere.  The problem is we are so busy searching, we grab onto the first potential suitor to come along or go to the other extreme and let everyone pass by because they can't possibly be "the right one."

How do you know?

In the good ole days, you got butterflies in your stomach (But, that might have just been the onions on that burger you had for lunch..)  You might have gotten light headed at the mere sight of him/her.  (That could be dehydration.  How much water have you had today?)  Or the first kiss that made you want to swoon.  (Have you had your blood pressure checked recently?)  Those are only a handful of the classic signs of love.  Do they even apply anymore in this age of texting, chatting and  on-line dating ?  I certainly don't know!

Is it possible to get butterflies merely by corresponding via e-mail or chat?  Can you be attracted without ever hearing their voice?  Should you throw caution to the winds?  How do you know they aren't a serial stalker...a money grubber out to steal your life savings.  (which in my case would be $2.39 just in case anyone is interested.)  Sure they say they aren't married, but short of a FBI background check, they could tell you anything.

Remember, the guy on the news a few months back who had dozens of families all over the country? Scary, huh?

As most good things in life, love is a risk.  You risk your heart.  But some things must be taken on faith.  I suspect love is one of those.

Can a little ole southern lady find love the second time around?  I write about it.  Does that make it easier.  Hell no!  It's scary and crazy and any other word you can think up for complete insanity.  But--I think it may be worth it.  I hope it is.  Stay tuned...
