Chastity (Brandon Williams) hails from Whitby, Ontario, a suburb whose spirit is well removed from the city of Toronto. Chastity channels the feeling of youth on the fringe, focusing on the familiar and earnest connections found among the pent up suburban blue-collar. The genre bending music of Chastity hovers in a space oscillating between urgency, melody and noise - an artifact of youth culture that forms a bridge between isolation and collectivity.Chastity has signed to Brooklyn label Captured Tracks, a label known for spearheading it's own brand of youth culture through it's impeccable roster including Mac Demarco, DIIV, Perfect Pussy, Wild Nothing and more. The TAPE re-release consists of 4 tracks recorded in 2014 and 2015 and should be viewed more as a collection of demos as opposed to the traditional EP.
Williams is currently touring North America extensively and is also working on his debut album which will be released in 2017. Captured Tracks will also be releasing a 7" later this winter which includes new material, watch this space for more details.
