My Introduction to Seats2Meet Utrecht CS

In June of this year, I was introduced to Seat2Meet by my dear friend Manon, who is also a Digital Nomad. We’d not seen each other in awhile, we talked and caught up on our travels and current projects. I was explaining to her how I wished there were an internet café that I could visit since my friend no longer had internet. Being a digital nomad, one can miss just about anything, even a meal; but NO internet is like a fish out of water.
She asked, “Why don’t you go to Seat2Meet? Its nearby, you can register online and its easy. Unlike all of the other co-working space provider, this one is free. The free coffee & tea is an added value; and if I’m not mistaking, I think they even have free lunch. The people that attend that location are entrepreneurs and freelancers. It’s a great vibe I think you will enjoy it.”
This not only sound easy, it sound too good to be true. Yet as curious as I am, I’m always on the lookout for new opportunities to meet new people so I thought why not?
My appointment was set and I was reassured that if I wanted to cancel, I could without there being any obligations to me. At this point, I’m really thinking not only is this too good to be true, there also have to be a catch!
While other shared work spaces charge a fee, I was curious and anxious to see what S2M had to offer. I was well impressed with the look and feel of the S2M Utrecht CS location. The setting and staff was very nice and welcoming. I was given a mini tour and explanation of the process such as signing in. The staff were very informative in answering any and all my questions. As if the coffee wasn’t great enough, the free buffet style lunch was awesome! To think that I’d been living my life as a Digital Nomad for ten years and never knowing this place existed, was mind blowing to say the least.
As I was packing up to leave, I couldn’t do so without asking one or two more question about S2M; like how long the company existed and if they had any plans on taking this concept to other countries like the U.S. or maybe even the Philippines. A host, Atekaeh, told me that I was in luck because the head of the international marketing, Lenneke, was there and that she could better answer that question. It was an added and highlighted plus to be introduced to her.
To not be ready to discuss things that you’re passionate about is not an option for me. My personal motto to myself is: If you stay ready, then you don’t have to get ready. This is the life of a networker, digital nomad, trend setter and globe trotter. You have to stay ready for the unexpected.
After a brief introduction of myself and my background in the entertainment industry, event planning and business development, she bounced the idea of my holding my workshops there. Becoming involved with the international ambassadors was an amazing experience! Lenneke agreed that it was serendipity at its best.
After returning from the US on my summer vacation with my 3 children, I returned to S2M, in August and I have been here for a month. I will be returning to Anderson, S.C. where I plan to implement my Stealth Studio, a Seat2Meet.com location. I have been working with city developmental councils to bring innovation and technology to help build the workforce for the county. With a few other developmental options already on the table for workforce development incubators, the other shared workspace didn’t fit our model. Thus, this is why I was so surprised that it was here in Utrecht all this time. The missing link to our New Economy model that brings a music studio, technology, audio visual, web designers, photographers, artist, musicians, and all entrepreneurs together under one roof.
Through my entertainment company, ETS Entertainment, which is also located in Anderson, will provide the tools and guidance for all the projects produced in Stealth Studio, a Seat2Meet.com location. We have a global network in music distribution, film distribution and streaming. We thrive to show there are more reward when you share your knowledge, and share the wealth. Wealth is not always in the form of money, but the wealth of acquired knowledge that is sitting across the table from you. Social capital is vital in this day in time. In order for Society 3.0 to hit its stride is when we can convert Social Capital into Spending Capital.
