Express Post - Oops!

I've done some dumb things in my life (I can't even begin to list them all, there's not enough paper in the world), but this took the cake. It happened last weekend.

I'd watched this DVD, which turned out not to be as good as some films I've watched, nor as bad as others, and as it featured robots and lots of blowing up, I thought my brother just might like it. So, being a lovely Saturday morning, I took the 20 minute walk to the little newsagent come post office and posted it express post, just so he'd get it quick. Then the 20 minute walk back home.

Feeling supremely self-satisfied - walkies and good deed all in one hit, you know? - I proceeded to ready myself for The Walking Dead season 6 DVD marathon back-to-back weekend I had planned, complete with garlic & cheese pizza.

This would have gone well, except when I went to put the first disc in I found another disc sitting in there. On closer inspection, I found that it was the disc that belonged to the cover I'd just express posted to my brother.

Yes, people, I express posted the EMPTY DVD COVER to my brother!

This morning Mum express posted the DVD itself. I think he'll find it much more interesting than just the cover!

The freakin' postage cost more than the )&%@! DVD!

I rang my brother to warn him he'd get the empty cover first, followed by the DVD - he laughed like a hyena. His sympathy warmed the cockles of my heart, it really did...

Janine Randall You have to tell me what you thought of TWD season 6! I know you said your friend stopped after a few episodes, so I don't know if you watched the whole year. None of my friends are in to it, so I never get any feedback about what others think (other than fan websites, but they're a little prejudiced!) Anyway, I thought it was great & wondering your perspective. Hope kitties stay happy and healthy and your Mum continues to pull your keester out of the fire. Can't wait for the next book. Keep going, we can't wait too much longer!

I LOVED TWD S6! I have no idea why my friend didn't like it, I thought it was awesome. The way the characters are changing and evolving according to time passing and what is happening to them. Interesting that Rick was starting to soften and consider outsiders, then what happens at the end of the season - oh my gosh! I was gob-smacked! I also loved the zombies (yay zombies!) and that scene in the quarry was breath-taking. Also liked how the older zombies are really wearing down to skin and bone. Janine, I can't rave enough about S6! I've another freind watching it, she just emailed to say she sat up until midnight watching it and is now on episode 5 - she's enjoying it heaps, too.

Janine Randall Oh, good!! There were so many things I loved...Rick & Daryl's road trip..."When you were pouring the Bisquick did you mean to make pancakes?"...Richonne...Rick looking up, all covered in blood "What?". We find out in a couple of weeks who Negan killed. I wanna know, but I don't want to know, ya know? Hoping, hoping it's not Daryl, but at least it's not Carol. Hopefully, she'll get her mojo back. So many icky, awesome Zombies!! Glad you enjoyed it. Whoo Hoo Season 7!!

I know, there were so many moments! How about wehn Karl got shot in the eye? Or when that psychiatrist who was trying to be the doctor got the arrow through her eye? I did NOT see that coming! Argh - I have to wait until around Sept/Oct next year to see season 7. ARGH! But I know me, I'll Google for spoilers and check youtube for spoilers, because I'll need to know who Negan killed! You know, I reckon it might be that young bloke from the town, the one who found Rick's group and brought them to the town in Season 7?

Janine Randall It's supposed to be one of THE main characters. I'm thinking either Eugene or Abraham. I guess I'd be OK with that, but I'd miss them, too. Especially Abraham's zingers. Dr. Denise was SO hard! She was just getting in to the group, and trying to do something sweet for Tara. How about Jessie and her kids. I gotta admit, I didn't like those boys to begin with, but shooting Carl! Oh, no you din't. Did you like Michonne kissing Carol on the forehead when she had to leave? I thought that was a sweet moment. Course, I thought it was great when Daryl blew up those guys with a rocket launcher & set the pond on fire. I guess I like a combo of blood and guts & Love. The only thing they've told us is episode 1 is really, really awful and that it's wild all season. Not much longer to wait, so I'm trying to stay off the spoilers. Take care. I'll feed you info if you want, but only in exchange for a promise to write fast!

LOL! Feed me info and I will try really hard to write faster!!!
I love a good mix of horror and action in TWD, and the quiet moments give time for a breather. I felt that this season characters introduced in last season (such as Jessie and the kids) got knocked-off. No one is safe, which keeps us all guessing.
