Balance and Creativity
Creativity is abundant and hard to come by at the same time. It is an elusive thing creativity. I find that I need balance in my life for it to flow properly. That has been why I have been in a creative funk lately, I have had to balance. Stress from all aspects have my life has thrown me off kilter and my creativity is faltering.
So how am I going to get my life back in order? I need to calm myself and my stress somehow. Meditation is the first step. I need to get back into a daily practice. Probably twice a day truthfully. Normally I would say yoga and my meditation practice go hand in hand, but my health is not allowing me to practice right now, adding to some of stress. Still, I am going to try to walk or something. Easy things that I can do with my health the way that it is.
I am already eating a healthy diet and I will continue to do so. I follow a Mediterranean style diet and I can only assume that I would be worse off without all my fruits, veggies and whole grains. Just doesn't seem to be enough at the moment, but at least I have one aspect of my life down.
Next I need to work on trying to bring some fun and relaxation back into my life. I am going to commit to reading one uninterrupted hour a day. I am going to get back to sketching and painting every day, even if just a little. I am going to watch something fun on tv once a day. Its the small things that I hope will bring balance back to me and with that creativity back into my life.
