Update: Why I've Been MIA

Hi guys.
I apologize for going MIA the last month or so. Unfortunately, it wasn't by choice. My family and I were left homeless during the Louisiana floods a month ago and we've spent the past few weeks redirecting our focus and trying to pull our lives together again.

In between that time, I've been furiously writing and working on my TWO October releases, PLATFORM FOUR and I'VE SEEN YOU NAKED AND DIDN'T LAUGH, in addition to promoting the new Night Shift 2 anthology. I hope you've pre-ordered and picked up your copy of the antho.

All have been a welcome change of pace since we lost pretty much everything we owned. This wasn't something, I don't believe, that the national media gave much attention to, however, I will tell you that as a community and region we are nowhere close to being back to normal. There are thousands of homes in shambles and rubbish and trash covers pretty much every road in our town. Of the 135k people living in our parish, 130k were flooded. A realtor I spoke to told me there were only 7k homes NOT flooded in our town.

Right now, our plans are to rebuild, buy a small little trailer (did you guys know that trailers are so super fancy now? I had no idea!) to set on our property and get busy planning a home that is far more stable and definitely higher off the ground! :)

Anyway, it's a long road ahead but we have faith and each other and the immense generosity of our family and friends. One of my friends, Christine, put together a GoFundMe account. I don't generally ask for things...I was raised to give to others, but if you are so inclined to share the following link, I'd be so grateful.

Since we lost everything, that means I will not be able to attend the Shameless Book Con in Orlando in October which TOTALLY bums me out bc I SO wanted to drink a Butter beer in Hogsmede and see all my awesome friends. :(

Tell me how you all are doing. I hope you've been well.
Thanks!
