Perry Lake Like I said before, Graeme, your vampire series sounds a lot like my own. I long since wrote an origin story (though yet unpublished) similar to this.

Um, chariots are not recorded in Egypt until around 1650 bce when the Hyksos invaded.

Graeme Rodaughan Someone else also mentioned Chariots to me as being an anachronism.

Let's just say that Aknaton, being a genuis, invented them, and then after his fall, the knowledge was lost...

By similar - do you mean (1) that a divine device that codifies the fundamental laws of the universe was (2) accessed, and used in an act of (3) hubris, to (4) resurrect the dead, and due to the (5) lack of effective knowledge of the user, the dead came back to life as a (6) vampire.

That would be a lot of correspondence.

Interestingly enough, I read a book recently The Devil's Mouth (Alex Rains, Vampire Hunter Book One) by Matt Kincade where very occasionally, I would read a sentence that almost word for word matched what was in my own work.

The similarity was driven by the similarity of context. We both write modern fantasy vampire hunter stories.

Another thing - check out the lists here Wiki - Setting characteristics - Source There is quite an array of options that have been used before for the origina of vampires such as curses, co-evolution, deal with the devil, etc.

Since we both write comprehensive vampire stories - it follows that we would both delve into the idea of a genesis for vampires and would write for ourselves a backstory that provides an interesting genesis story.

Perry Lake Oh, it was not a criticism, Graeme. More like, "Great minds think alike". :D

Graeme Rodaughan It's all good. I didn't feel criticised. I think that we are mining similar veins (pun intended...)
