Scrappy
I tried to do this as a status update but couldn't get it to work.
For those following the possum saga that is my life, Scrappy turned up again tonight and she wasn't alone!
And everywhere I post this, I have to add the disclaimer: Please excuse the disgusting state of the windowsill. Scrappy brings half the yard in with her when she comes inside. I'll clean it when they leave!

those eyes, though! no one could resist them
Ha ha, when living in Australia we had them thumping around on the roof at night keeping us awake, but here in NZ, well......... lets just be kind and say that their fur makes beautiful snuggly blankets and when mixed in with wool is lovely makes wonderfully warm knitted scarves, hats and gloves!

They are so warm and comfortable! I am totally fine with them being protected here and being an invasive pest over there. :D
Your opossums are way cuter. All I can imagine is being awakened in the predawn with a dozen Scrappy's sitting on me demanding bananas. O_o

Yeah, but sometimes the community has to pitch in too, our local group KCPA is very active and have asked for "sponsorship" to trap stoats etc and a lovely neighbour of mine monitors them - doing REALLY well! Sometimes to protect our native animals and environment we need to get out and be active, if you can't be active (and lets face it with house prices etc we all have to work) be supportive :-)
