Just About the Strangest & Creepiest Thing I Have Ever Seen in Microsoft's Word Program

I'm typing along in my current manuscript, tweaking away. I decide to add the word Spike (don't ask), and when my fingers get to the K in Spike, an odd  little box appears with some fragments of words, and the instructions (PRESS ENTER TO INSERT). Hey, I can't resist (there is a reason the main character in my  novel does the things she does), so I press enter. Here is what gets inserted in my manuscript:
