Moby Dick might swallow it.
Two days ago it was euphoria, dancing,, punching the air for joy as you know Phobic Dawn reached the best seller list for Sc Fi High Tech. But then the Gods hid behind clouds and Phobic Dawn was was drowning in a sea of sobs.Moby Dick was hovering ready to swallow the book whole. Sob, sob, raining tears, it was falling, tumbling, sliding down the ranks reaching 35,000 and oh dear no reviews and not a star in sight.
Then I thought, before it was published, I would have given my eye teeth to be 35,000 on the list.I am proud to be there at all.
At least I had one day of euphoria and I will treasure that. It's like the song. 'Wec\an be heroes jsut for one day."
With that thought in mind I had a good night's sleep dreaming of swimming in the crystal blue waters the Maldives. I've never been there, hubby's a geneaologist so every year we go to Suffolk to visit the graves. As he rubs the moss of the stones I wrote down the dates. Hmm.
But back to Amazon, I'd resolved only to go in every other day to check on the ranks. I would spend the time chatting on the forums.
True to my promise, this morning I didn't go in and check. I was itching to but managed to go and have biscuit instead, a chocolate digestive with some Nescafe Gold Blend coffee.
Then I received an email from Melanie of DG, It had reached 57 on the best sellers again for High Tech Sci Fi. I was beaming. Luckily the photographer was arriving to do a photograph for the local newspaperpromoting Phobic Dawn. I'm just so glad I had the teeth veneers done. And my hair has grown now I won't have to wear a wig. Short hair doesn't suit me. She didn't like the glasses so I took them off. Wow what a roller coaster.
It's like the perfect storm of high rolling waves clinging onto a tiny boat. I dare not go in again, Moby Dick might have had the book it for breakfast, taking it down to the dark depths of the sea.
I must stop clenching my teeth otherwise it's the dentist - I am terrifed of dentists. But my dentist Matthew is very good. He gives me 10 mg. of diazepam as he buckles up the straps. It took five visits and 50 mg diazepam to get those veneers done. Worth it though. They say they last ten years.
But back to Amazon again, I saw Phobic Dawn had crept into the American charts - wow, rank 90,000 . astounded. It doesn't matter what the rank is, it's great to know it is there. So I shall just get down to finishing the second book and hoping others will visit Kindle and have a :))
