I really don’t understand why some people think that the fact they’re going to explore Sherlock’s past is bad news to canon Johnlock. I really don’t.

No bloody idea. Sherlock is a result of his past, and Sherlock is now head over heels in love with John. Sherlock’s capacity to love is immense. The past made him the man we know at this point in the story arc. Revealing past traumas or events will give insight but will not change the trajectory of the John/Sherlock romance. The past events have already occurred, the results are already in evidence. No worries.




Agreed. Also, just because showing what made Sherlock what he is would be something relatively unexplored in prior adaptations doesn’t mean that’s the only new/original slant Moftiss had planned. There have been WAY too many signposts to johnlock for the story to make any sense without it.
