Yet another slaughter of innocents

I have had to stay off the computer this past week; it is just too painful. But I had to speak out after yet another mass killing. Fifty people murdered. It almost defies belief, or it would if it had not happened so often. This is the fifteenth time that President Obama has had to offer comfort to the nation after a murderous rampage—fifteen. Our only meager consolation is that such horrors bring out the best in people, too, who show great courage and compassion and empathy—the police officers who try to stop the killing, the survivors and bystanders who risk their own lives to help the injured. My heart goes out to the families and friends of the slain and wounded. Please pray for them. That seems to be all we are ever able to do.
I see the orthopedist again next week, hope that he will be able to help as he did earlier in the spring. Wish me luck.

Gary Good luck for the orthopedist op will have you in my thoughts and prayers
We must always stand against the killing of innocents by evil terrorists as in the Orlando massacre and the Sarona market killings in Tel Aviv the week before last
Here is my review of The Sunne in Splendour

Leila Thoughts and prayers for the healing of your pain Sharon and also of course for the pain of all involved in the 'killing of innocents' everywhere. The upsurge of such evil is terrifying. Leila x

RJay Are we really any safer than those in the MA? The brutality continues ... as it was then, religion seems to be the root of the evil. Whether it's Christians against Jews, Muslims against Christians, etc.
It seems a total waste and not what any merciful God would have ever wanted.

Leila You are so right RJay. Nothing changes. As you say - 'The brutality continues'

Anne Hope your pain is soon eased Sharon . Yes once again America is rocked by a mass killing and here in England we have just lost one of our best new members of Parlimant in her home town murdered while helping the people she represents and I wonder if it will ever end

message 6: by Susan (new)

Susan The ripple affect of the pain is beyond believe

message 7: by Steve (new)

Steve Hope you're feeling better soon, Sharon. Hard as I try not to, it's difficult not to become cynical about the mass murders and how to stop them. It seems that one more outbreak more or less doesn't make any difference to the "Powers that Be."
