My absence and Game of Thrones finale

I am so sorry that I’ve become such a stranger to Facebook, but I’ve been in too much pain to spend time at the computer and yes, that delights the Deadline Dragon greatly. I had a cortisone shot last week; it did not help, though. So we are trying a series of four injections which the orthopedist thinks will help, although he cautioned I probably won’t get relief until I’ve had all four shots. I’ve decided to believe him, as that beats the alternative.
My deepest sympathies to the people suffering so much in the West VA flooding and in the California fires. Life has been turned upside down, too, in one of my favorite places—the UK. This has not been a good year for so many.
I will try to stop by when I can. Meanwhile, here is the EW recap for last night’s jaw-dropping finale of Game of Thrones; it also offers some interesting interviews with various cast members. Anyone anticipate those serpentine plot twists? I sure did not. http://www.ew.com/recap/game-of-thron...

Asghar Abbas I feel this episode was even better than the Battle of the Bastards. This season, this last episode has been one of the best so far on this show. Pure excellence. And yes, shocks and surprises were aplenty in this one. I was constantly amazed and satisfied at the same time. Which scenes, storylines were your favorites? To me, Jon Snow's storyline was most emotional, epic, human as the showrunners wisely continue to show our beloved Jon Snow as fallible.

Faith Perry Sharon,
My sympathies on your agony. I went to my first orthopedist appointment last Friday. He told me to deal with the bone on bone arthritis pain while I can before I start needing the cortisone and then the gel shots...he did say they can now give those in a single dose instead of spread out over time. Might want to check on that.
The GOT season finale was incredible. I eagerly await next season and of course GRRM's next book even more ;-)
Faith

Rick Slane Are you familiar with Healing Back Pain: The Mind-Body Connection? I don't know whether it will help you or not. I enjoy your books and blogs.

Rebecca As you know I'm a GOT obsessive lol....I picked that Arya would pose as a serving girl and kill Walder Frey & his two sons. I also called it that Ramsay would take Rickon as his prisoner from the trailer 'do you like games, little man?' And that both Rickon & Osha would die.

I also said Cersei would blow up the Sept with wildfire after the HS denied the trial by combat, but that was pretty obvious.

Jon Snow would become King in the North.

That Olenna Tyrell & the Martells would ally with Daenerys Targaryen.

I also called it on Tommen dying(but didn't know how)& Pycelle, Kevan Lannister, Lancel, The HS, Loras, The Blackfish...I really hoped that Margaery would survive, but got that one wrong. And when I read the 'Hold the Door' episode I guessed it meant Hodor, but didn't realise he'd die in the episode! That was traumatic.

I also thought that Davos was on the burning cross, but thank goodness I got that one wrong. And I really thought that Septa Shame would be the first to die, but she didn't.

It was a very good season and the last two episodes were the best I've seen....I can't wait for Season 7 & the release of Winds of Winter.....

Take care Sharon, I cannot imagine having to deal with such pain on a daily basis...I wish I had some sage words of wisdom to offer you, but I don't....hoping that things improve for you.....

Sharon Thank you all for your good wishes; that means a lot to me. Rick, I am not familiar with the book you suggest, but I will definitely check it out. I have often found relief outside of the "traditional" medical zone--so have my dogs, as I have a veterinarian who believes in alternative medicine as an option.
Wow, Rebecca, you were on the same page with the GofT writers at HBO most of the time. I was constantly getting surprised in those last two episodes, aside from figuring that Littlefinger would arrive in time to save the day for Jon. I thought Ramsay would get away, though, and was very happy to be proven wrong.

Rebecca Glad to see you back & hope you have found some relief for your pain.

I did have a few heart stopping moments, especially when I saw Jon being suffocated in the battle-that was a hair pulling moment & you don't want to know what I was yelling lol.....And yes, thank goodness Ramsay died.....this show makes one so blood thirsty, I wanted to jump through the screen and land a few blows on him myself lol.....And unfortunately we lost another two Direwolves...What is it with Dan n Dave? Do they hate dogs?

So next season if Ghost dies, WE RIOT! lol

I hope you're improving every day Sharon, so enjoy your week:) & take care.
